Hello! My name is Reese and I am a high school student living in Singapore. I have been a dancer for a lot of my life but only recently was it that dance assumed a new role in my life. When school got stressful or when I was feeling majorly unproductive during breaks, I would go to the studio. Dance has kept me going during more difficult times in my life by helping me feel more confident in myself and feel more beautiful, and visibly showing me how much my hard work would pay off, keeping me motivated and excited to continue. Dance keeps my brain and body healthy and it is the one thing I will never be too tired to do.

Academically, my biggest passion is psychology. I am extremely fascinated with the human mind and behavior and was exhilarated at the fact that there was an entire field of study dedicated to uncovering how it works. As I learned more and more about psychology and about myself, one thing became clear: how much dance was benefitting my mental health. I soon learned that this was a proven fact and even an emerging field of study called neuroaesthetics. I currently run a dance class/program called Movement for Mind to help other stressed-out students find peace through dance and give them the same experience I am so lucky to have.  This blog will be a record of my research, progress of my initiative, and a journal of things I find personally fascinating. I hope you enjoy
